Awareness conference for climate change

The week begins with a national conference on ` Climate change and its impact on natural resources' in the city. It's an attempt to create awareness among people in mitigation of climate change and to reduce global warming.

BANGALORE: The three-day conference begins today at the Jnana Jyothi auditorium at Central College campus. The event has been jointly organised by BU's Department of Environmental Science and the Karnataka state pollution control board ( KSPCB).

The conference will be inaugurated by higher education minister V S Acharya and will be presided over by BU vice-chancellor Dr N Prabhu Dev. The main topics include pollution and climate change and climate change and its effect on water resources, biodiversity, health and solid waste management among others.
